Esther Morales is the designer behind Pegatami creations. Esther was trained in the world of the fashion textile industry, studying pattern and fashion design before training with and then working for a number of different fashion companies with international recognition.
Esther gets her inspiration from the thousands of textures and colours she finds in the papers she chooses. Papers she can then fold, cut, tear and match to build a whole new universe of creative possibilities. Working as she used to in creating high quality fashion garments, Esther designs, cuts and uses collage techniques to create necklaces and other accessories to dress women who enjoy special and unique jewels.
Pegatami jewels are made from printed papers of different thicknesses, textures and types and assembled using the techniques of collage. The paper is glued to a smooth leather base which gives both strength and flexibility to the piece of jewelry. In addition to paper, Esther also uses ribbons, threads, printed cotton fabrics, wood and ceramics to complete her unique and original creations based on her moods and inspirations.
